Born on the Mat: The Story Behind Roll Gear LLC — Veteran-Founded, Community-Driven

The Story Behind Roll Gear

Roll Gear LLC wasn't built in a boardroom. It was built on the mat. I'm a retired U.S. Navy veteran, a mom of two kids who train BJJ and wrestling, and a martial arts student myself. I've spent years watching grappling change lives — building discipline in teenagers, giving veterans a place to decompress, and teaching young girls what it feels like to be strong. But the gear? It kept letting people down. Too fragile. Too generic. No soul. So in 2024, I built Roll Gear LLC from scratch — stitched together with the same values the military taught me: discipline, excellence, and never leaving your people behind. Every rash guard, every pair of spats, every accessory we make carries that mission. This isn't apparel. This is armor for people who show up.

What We Make — and Why It Hits Different

Every piece is made to order, designed by athletes who actually train, and built to outlast the roll.

Rash guards for adults and kids — no-slip, sublimated, built for hard rolls
Compression spats and shorts — for no-gi warriors who train to compete
Military & First Responder collection — gear that honors your service on and off the mat
Girls on the Mat collection — because women's BJJ isn't a niche anymore
Anti-bacterial body wash and accessories — for the full recovery game

From the Mat to the Mission

We don't just make gear — we fund futures. Roll Gear LLC actively donates to the Future Champions Initiative, a program that brings martial arts training to underserved youth. We sponsor junior athletes and partner with academies that believe the mat is a classroom. Because grappling doesn't just build fighters. It builds people.

"He wore his Roll Gear rash guard to his first tournament and told me he felt like a superhero. His confidence hasn't stopped growing." — Parent, Virginia Beach

"The kids don't just wear it. They believe in what it stands for." — Youth BJJ Coach
